It was delicious. The way the food was served was eye opening a perfect for a technology hub like Austin. There were five at the table, two couple and me. Each couple and me scanned the QR code on the table with our cell phones to get the menu, nothing different than many other places during and after Covid.

But then we scrolled down the menu and choose what we wanted to eat and drink, enter a tip and a credit card number then wait for your order to be delivered to your table. In our case we sent three orders to the kitchen, one for each couple and one for me.

The use of technology is great, but it does beg the question, Why are we requested to give a tip when no service has yet been rendered. Perhaps I'm old fashioned or just old but I thought a tip was given for service received, and is given after the meal, not before.

That may INCLUDE carrying plates from the kitchen to the table, but there is a lot more to good service. This practice of requesting a tip before any service is given leaves a bad taste.

It is akin to a voluntary chair tax and will eventually lead to lower income for the wait staff as people stop paying the tax. Torchy's Tacos is a local chain of Mexican restaurants that serve inventive tacos in various flavors.

The menu features Texan-style tacos as well as the popular green chile queso. The only location with a drive-thru is in Spicewood Springs, but the restaurant is worth it for its creative tacos and delicious queso.

We avoided the most touristy location and went for this one in the downtown business district. First off, we love the vibe. Bar area is huge. Seating area feels open and welcoming. I like the outdoor seating area, which is super pleasant here at the end of March.

The menu is easy to decipher but hard to decide between. What was our favorite? Hard to tell. Loved them all. We also had chips with the green chile queso. Excellent dipping sauce.

Needed a few more chips though. I was in town for four nights and ate here for dinner twice it was that good! This was a suggestion from a good friend that lived in Austin for a number of years, and I'm glad I followed his recommendation. The tacos particularly the Crossroads taco are delicious.

You won't go wrong eating here. Tacos were great but had issues the two times we went on vacation--a taco on the wrong tortilla which still tastes great but was incorrect and I ordered 2 tacos but one was forgotten from my order which I didn't noticed until it was served.

That being said, the food all tasted amazing and I would recommend to anyone. Seating is both indoor and outdoor and your food will be brought to you wherever you're sitting. The Baja shrimp tacos were my favorite on this trip to Texas!

Delish but spicy! Everything tasted lovely and the flavors of the airstream salad were on point. But everything we ordered was pretty spicy, to the point that I only ate about half, so know that going in :.

It was clean, quick to order, modern look but great food. The food had enough seasoning and spice and they had coke zero. I ordered the guacamole especially to add to my steak fajita taco. Staff were quick to bring the food, clean up and were very polite. The queso was definitely the highlight of the meal.

This is more of a fast food spot with a wider selection of options to choose from. Came close to closing and the food came out fairly quick. Overall good tacos. The shrimp tacos were superior they give you many shrimp and you can basically customize it how ever you like. The chicken taco - trailer park trash was not my favorite.

Drinks were very good and the staff moved quickly to get people their food which I appreciate. It was easy to find seating and they had very good margaritas.

In Austin for work and someone recommended Torchys. We enjoyed the food and had fun. The tacos were fun, we loved the nookie for dessert, and the queso was way different that I've had.

Almost the texture of hummus? Very fun! Popped in for a quick drink and snack. The bartender was warm and welcoming. We got some margaritas and they recommended the queso. The drinks were delicious and the queso definitely impressed. Just the perfect amount of heat and super cheesy.

Definitely freshly made. Have to come back to try the tacos. I mean WOW! These tacos are fun and creative. They have some really good sauces that spice them up. The Trailer Park Taco, was amazing! And the bartenders were fun and lively which really helped make for a good environment!

The fanciest Torchy's in town. It has a great ambiance. The service was a bit slow given the single bartender had to serve so many people at a time. Other than that, it's a great place to check out.

September I only went in here to take a break fro the heat and sit at the bar. This place is a bit fancier than the Torchy's Tacos in my neighborhood but still the same menu. I ordered a Sucker Punch where did not want to order a frozen margarita where coming from the heat outside did not want to experience another massive brain freeze.

The bartender was great and made me feel at home. My drink was very refreshing and tasted excellent. I noticed the restrooms needed a code to enter where I just returned to my hotel which was nearby. Stunning Chile queso dip.

Started with the fries and was surprised at how they managed to stay crispy even while smothered with that meat, sauce, and cheese.

Super good. Not soggy. King wrap was a hit as well. We ordered king size falafel wrap, K-fries, hummus and pita, falafel basket.

Everything was so good. Falafel was so crispy and tasty. This place is super tasty, but WOW the regular size is too small. Be sure to order the "King" size if you're looking for a filling entree. The price point is rock-solid and the ambience of the outdoor eating area is quite nice.

Hard to go wrong with Kebabalicious. Regular size bowls were plenty of food, and it was all so good! One of those places that has been around for decades and found the right recipe. The burger tastes fresh with that perfect amount of grill flavor. The single was an appropriate size, but I may opt for a double next time. Fries were also fresh, hot and crispy. I need to try the tots and sweet potato options next time.

The two pictures below. But everything was amazing. I thought them very satisfying. This place found that balance. Not too Salty or Oily. Perfection IMO. The burger and fries were both bland and weren't anything special. The queso tastes like Velveeta and Rotel, one of the worst I've had in Austin so far.

The most disappointing part was the onion rings. I couldn't wait until I got home so I tore the bag open in my truck and grabbed an onion only to be severely underwhelmed by the complete lack of flavor. The onions tasted like they were boiled instead of fried while still being greasy enough to leak through the paper bag.

There is also a large sitting area outside by the parking lot that looked very nice. We had the O. T Special, Habanero Burger and the Dirty's chicken sandwich with a side of the onion rings. Everything was really tasty, we enjoyed the experience very much.

The onion rings needed a bit more salt but there was salt shaker on the table. There is a large selection of cocktails and some beer on tap, we had the Shiner Bock on tap that was very fresh and cold, also the Oreo Milkshake.

Texas Chili Parlor is a Downtown staple for politicos of all stripes, with spicy Southern fare. It's also a favorite haunt for art lovers and those looking for a quick bite.

After lunch, walk over to the Blanton Museum of Art or Driskill Hotel for a fun afternoon. Great spot! Staff was super friendly. I got the three chili sampler with their standard chili, white chili was pork and gumbo.

The standard chili was my favorite as it had the most depth. In town for a conference and my husband mentioned wanting to try this for a long time so we walked over and had a great time!

We had chili tasters and nachos. The chili was amazing. The tasters are a great way to try a few different flavors. We were seated and waited on quickly.

We went early…around pm and it was busy but no wait. I highly recommend giving this place a visit. A Texas hidden gem next to the Capitol!! Nice heat and flavors!! Parking is limited in the immediate area but worth the walk.

Hopefully we will be back in town soon! Pretty good food. The omelets are great with very fresh ingredients, got the ham and cheese. The cheese was very good cheddar and I added the Louisiana hot sauce to the omelet.

We came here during a weekend breakfast. The wait time was short. The decor was unique-Dr Seuss themed wall, Aprons hanging by the windows As for the food: I had the eggs Benedict with black beans. I loved It. Their pancakes were great! Everyone else's food was great too.

The wait staff was friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed their coffee. I was most impressed with my visit to The Omelettry. This was my very first visit to the restaurant DURING my very first visit to the city of Austin.

This was a great way to kickoff my visit to Austin. Food was delicious, staff was friendly. I was especially impressed with my pancakes. Everything IS bigger in Texas Staff kept my bottomless coffee full, kept my water full.

I will most definitely visit this restaurant again! thank you so very much to The Omelettry, I'm now a fan for life! This place is so amazing! From the aesthetic, to the food, cleanliness, and the hospitality.

I came here with my family to try something new from the moment we walked in I knew we would enjoy the experience. We sat down and looked over the menu and the hostess was even kind enough to let me sample the Horchata which was amazing by the way perfectly balanced looked over the menu and ordered.

Food came out in a timely manner and the presentation was visually pleasing. While the home fries were a bit big the food was flavorful, and fresh.

The service was nice, fast and friendly. Our server was even kind enough to help my indecisive grandmother pick a menu item that she ended up really enjoying.

Even the bathrooms were freshly cleaned and smelled good. Overall I would give this place a 9. Fun place for breakfast, but the hot cakes were mixed too long no lumps in the batter make them flatter. They were great tasting. Loved the huevos rancheros.

Not homemade tortillas, as far as I could tell, but served soft and warm. Great black beans and the breakfast potatoes were nice and crispy. The green sauce was spicy, the red was chunky and flavorful. Brother loved his veggie omelet and nephews loved their chocolate chip pancakes. Menu items were good value.

The Omelettry is a pretty nice place to get the feel of a local diner. It's situated in a small shopping complex very close to I Food wise it was pretty okay, we started off with the a cup of homemade potato leek soup, it's very light on the palette. The size of the cup is small so if you sharing order the bowl.

For main course we got the Popeye omelette, which is pretty huge. It tasted fresh, the eggs themselves felt a little under seasoned though. We also got the baked potatoes stuffed with mushroom and onions. It is basically a huge potato, baked and then filled with sauted veggies and some sauce on top.

I did not become a fan of it and left most of it on the plate. We finished off with a Gingerbread pancake which we really liked. The inside of this place is very cute.

Feels very comfortable and family atmosphere. Their shirts are cute. Food looks delicious however Taste I was not a fan of I like a well marinated salsa. The tomatoes on my omelette tasted canned. The food did do the job of filling myself up and husband.

The food did come with 2 very well sized pancakes. We ate before we hit the water for a few hours. I recommend place and to go early because it did get packed when we left. This is the place to go for great breakfast.

It has been one of my favorite for many years and makes me happy every time I eat here. Omelettes and pancakes were delicious. Service was excellent and the place definitely has an Austin vibe. So far so good!

Omelettes are a bit different here. Instead of mixing eggs with ingredients, they stuff the egg. Almost like an egg taco. Still wasn't too bad, I enjoyed the House Special omelette. All omelettes come with a short stack pancake which was a nice indulgence! Expect a bit of a wait, this place seems to get pretty packed.

Earlier the better! Plenty of parking. Delightful place with lots of vegetarian options. It's packed with people as early as 8AM, and that tells you how famous and good this place really is. The drip coffee is bottomless, and their fruit bowls are super fresh.

They have ample seating adorned by all mannerism of paraphernalia. The place is cozy, the food is fantastic and the service is quick and courteous. Mentioned on 4 lists. Ramen restaurant. To enjoy ramen at its finest, head to Ramen Tatsu-Ya. The shop's homemade pork bone broth is legendary, and can be had in various flavors with noodles, toppings, and side dishes.

From Austinites of all persuasions, this spot is a must-try. Great place, great food. One of the best ramen restaurants I've been to so far. The options are great the add-ons are delicious. The spicy noodles are to come back for. Service was quick and the server was very nice. A great aura and great overall experience.

Good place to go alone and eat or go with friends. The flavor and all else was perfect though amazing flavor. If you're looking for a place to eat, this is the place.

Long wait! But it was worth it. Ramen came out hot, fresh, and delicious. Mi-so hot was def spicy, but it was flavor packed. Worth the hype. Also ice cream cookies appear enticing. However, way too rich.

I would avoid it. Always an amazing experience at Ramen Tatsuya. I came in at around PM. It was very chill, the music was very good. I ordered them mi-so-hot, very delicious, the broth was thick, the Ramen was served hot. I enjoyed it very much. Only some cold weather could have made my experience better.

This restaurant was suggested by a friend who lives in the Austin area. I forgot to see if they required a reservation, which is HIGHLY recommended. From the moment I got there, to the moment I left, I was so pleased. The amazing hostess walked over and asked what name my reservation was under.

I was on my phone looking for somewhere else to have dinner. She walked back over and said someone was running late and she may be able to help me out. About 20 minutes later she sat me!!!

I wish I had gotten her name, but she totally went out of her way to help me. The food was AMAZING, atmosphere was a total vibe, and the staff was on point.

Thank you for making my first trip to Austin incredible. I love that you put in your order at the front before being seated, it allowed me to have enough time to grab some water, my seat and have my appetizers put right in front of me.

We were lucky enough to be seated on a corner of the bar where we had a clear view into the kitchen. Chef was killing the game and over seeing all the orders to make sure every order came out perfect, meanwhile doing a little air drumming in between.

Rich and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, great toppings. Ramen Restaurant featuring a unique dining experience with a simple, yet effective menu. Diners can choose their level of spicy by adding "spice bombs" to suit their fancy. The service is very quick and our ramen was at our table within about minutes of us sitting down.

The seating is somewhat of an "open floor plan" or you can sit in single seats at the cooks bar.
