Plus this deal is available for takeout or delivery! Since I come from the city with the best hotdogs, I was skeptical at first. This place didn't disappoint and is AWESOME. I had a chili dog, cheese fries, and a bowl of chili.

It was super delicious. The order taker got our order wrong twice, but it was busy and they quickly corrected it. The place is very historic, food is great, staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun! Next time I'm in DC, I will return!

Or trip to Ben's couldn't have been better. No line, we snagged a great table and the food was delicious!

Snappy, flavorful dogs. We, of course, order the half smoke all the way, as is right. Every bite was a pleasure. The staff was energetic and the atmosphere was great.

A well loved business that takes pride in its product and reputation. Go now. A must try when coming to DC! I loved eating here.. everyone wears masks and are nice and friendly.. the hot dog was okay.. the burger and chili bowl with rice is what shined..

check it out. Walk in and order, they will bring you your food. There are a few tables up front, in the middle and in the back. Pictures of famous people all over the walls.

Even have a TV playing with more pictures. This is a DC landmark. The place is fun to check out. But the chili was just ok Service was good. Historic institution in the DC area, with an ambience bringing you back to the 50s and 60s.

Friendly staff and locals who recommended the Classic dog with all the fixings and chili cheese fries. The hot dog was excellent but coming in an extremely close second was the chili which had a great spicy smoky flavour to it.

Can't wait to come back on my next visit to the capital. The food has always been great. I can remember seeing Mrs. Ali greeting everyone that came in. Her two son one in the office upstairs and the other on the grill.

The food is excellent!! Best Chili is the best in the DC metro area. Since their popularity thru the years the service has gone down. I was a regular. When I stop by now, I feel as they are doing me a favor in serving me. People now go because of their fame.

Not because of their hospitality as in the pass. This is a must try. The food is great. The hospitality that it once had is gone. So it's my first time to Washington DC and I have had a few people say you HAVE to do Bens Chili bowl, so we went to the original location and I must say WOW, it definitely lives up to the hype.

This is a must go, half smoke, original, chili cheese fries and definitely banana pudding. You will not be disappointed. Everything was amazing. Ben there now and have the t shirt to prove it.

Even taking some banana pudding home. Don't forget to check out the mural on the alley side of the building. We got the half smokes and chili! Both great! The onion rings were also awesome!.

We got the banana pudding for dessert and it was the cherry on top! If your only gonna go once, You have to stop here the original location!!

The half smoke is one of the best Chile dogs you can have and their milkshakes just compliment the spiciness of the chili. Just make sure you go to the original one.

Their new one in the convention center is only open during events. This is one of the best hot dogs I have ever had. I ended up getting 2 of them. They are on the pricier side, but they are worth it. They come with chili of you choose to get that as a topping. The hot dogs that ended up getting were all beef.

One set of fries is all you need. There's also a place right next door that they own that has some really good cheap drinks. Great spot. This place is legendary! During my trip to Washington DC I visited various restaurants and delicious food places, but none can even nearly match the friendly, welcoming environment that this place has.

The service combined with their delicious food makes for the perfect family run restaurant. Great DC relic. Super pleased they had vegetarian and vegan options for all entrees they serve.

The service was friendly and though appeared a bit disorganized they actually had some good systems going. Our meal was the best we had on our three days in the neighborhood eating at local restaurants with supposed chefs behind the menus. Overall I highly recommend for a chili and hot dog fix.

The vegetarian chili was outstanding- not greasy in the least. Ben's Chili Bowl is an iconic landmark in Washington, D. It's one of my favorite places for chili dogs, especially during winter.

Today was my lucky day that I had the opportunity to meet with the owner. Chicken wings restaurant. Italian restaurant. Show 4 more. This Capitol Hill pizza restaurant serves up traditional and modern pizzas made with fresh ingredients.

They also serve wings, gelato, and sodas in a fun black, white, and red space. Smells so good from outside! The place offers a wide variety of combinations. Salads are included in the menu. They offer a homemade sodas, I ordered the Blood Orange delicious soda 😍. Probably it could be better.

But inside, the smell and menu presentation was great. For me the 5 star is because the homemade soda and the people who is working there, they're doing a good job. Thank you! The most amazing pizza in Washington.

The place has good the perfect vibe. It smells good and have the great customer service. They have a large varieties of Pizza slice and tastes heaven.

Perfectly done, crispy crust and good quality for price. I tried their Margarita and Spinach Artichoke pizza which were delicious. They have a good seating area at the top with the screens to watch the game. Highly recommended to visit this place while visiting the Lincoln Memorial.

Great pizza, love the crust. Good beer choices. Plenty of seating. The prices were decent for the slice sizes. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would recommend!

THE BEST PIZZA!!!! It was SO GOOD!!! I wish I could have eaten more!! Crunchy crust and lots of toppings!!

Check out all the different pies in the pictures!! They had everything you could think of! So so good!!!! Food was good and quick. The pizza was very tasty and the atmosphere had an artsy vibe.

We can highly recommend this place. We cleaned our trays off nicely. This is an iconic pizza spot in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Popular with locals and tourists alike, they feature pizza by the slice with a wide variety of classic and creative pies. They also offer a selection of handcrafted sodas and a decent beer selection.

You can also order whole pies, which are very popular lunch items at meetings or briefings on Capitol Hill. Pizza was fresh out the oven. It looked really good but the flavor was average. And for 30 bucks I was hoping for more. I feel like a 10 dollar frozen pizza taste better then this one sadly.

Wings were tasty so that's a plus. I was not expecting this pizza to be so delicious but it was. The portions are large and the crust is delicious, not too much sauce and the toppings are fresh and a nice variety.

Their specialty pizzas are so yummy I had the Greek. You order downstairs and sit upstairs, cool and laid back environment. You can order by the slice or whole pizzas, decent price point.

The food here was so good! I got the Buffalo pizza and I LOVED it! The crust is crunchy and just perfect. My boyfriend ordered the honey ham and pineapple and really enjoyed it. The staff and atmosphere leave a little to be desired.

When we came in the music was LOUD. For the price and it being NY style pizza I was expecting the slice of pizza to be larger. But overall, the pizza was hot and fresh! Great service and nice outdoor seating.

This was my first time here. I was in town celebrating my birthday 🥳. Cozy little pizza restaurant that seems small, but has a large upper floor with tons of space and tables. There is a huge variety of pizzas to choose from. The bbq chicken was a favorite! Generous toppings on the "Butcher's Block" pizza I had.

The garlic knots were very buttery, it felt like almost too much unhealthiness as it was sitting in a pool of garlic. I didn't feel like the place stood out to me, but it is on level with other quality pizza restaurants.

Would come back again if I was in the area. Noodle shop. Ramen restaurant. Authentic Japanese ramen served in a relaxed and funky atmosphere, with izakaya-style food on the second floor. I was in DC for a concert and we wanted something good to eat so we looked up local spots.

This one popped up and I am glad it did. The food was fast, the server was polite and explained the menu easily. The price was right and there was plenty of food. Next time I am in DC for an event I will definitely stop here again.

Also, their spicy miso is delicious. My wife and I stopped in for dinner. They have a few booths, but most of the restaurant has communal seating which means you are sitting at a table with other people. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen and extra noodles and it was excellent.

I normally end up with a lot of broth left after eating the noodles, so having the extra noodles was nice since I just dropped them in after I was done with the noodles that came with the Ramen.

My wife ordered the super spicy Shoyu Ramen and said it was great and actually a good spice level for her. It was much more spicy than most other ramen shops. One thing I noticed and appreciated was the temperature of the Ramen was perfect.

The server was really nice and had a pleasant personality. We also each ordered a Sapporo. I recommend this Ramen shop and we will go back again if in the area. Came in for lunch around noon, surprisingly not busy!

Service is relatively quick for how busy it gets. Ramen is cooked well with a rich smoky broth and noodles cooked to be firm. Only downside is they do not give a lot of meat with the order, I'd recommend paying a little extra to garnish with an egg.

The place gets busy and they only take walk ins plus you must have everyone in your party to be seated. Has both an indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and service was quick. The server made to go over the menu and answer any questions. All of the broth except the veggie is made from a mixture or beef, pork and chicken so if you are a vegetarian the only option is the veggie option.

You don't get your own table, bit like eating at school. The biggest turn off was the stern waitress who never smiled. not a cheap meal but around the average round here. I went here for Restaurant Week today and had a great experience!

I had the Kaki Fry, Braised Eggplant, Udon, Cream Stew, and Zenzai. The food was wonderful. The oysters were served with a delicious egg salad on top. The eggplant was in a delicious soy broth. The udon noodles were wonderful, and the fried tofu soaked in all the broth. The cream stew was rich and a great mix of sweet and savory.

The zenzai wasn't very sweet, and I liked the earthiness of it. My only criticism is that the mochi in it wasn't very good - I've had much better mochi texture and flavor wise.

I went with two other people and so was able to sample all the other dishes as well. The croquettes were a little plain - I think the filling could have used some more salt or some kind of seasoning.

The sweet potato was delicious, but no different than when I make it at home - I wonder if something could have been done to make it feel more unique.

Everyone loved the curry and thought it was a wonderful comfort dish. The taiyaki fish shaped pancake filled with red bean paste was also very good - I've never had one deep fried before, but it certainly didn't hurt the flavor.

We agreed that it reminded us of funnel cakes at a fair, which is definitely not normally the case with taiyaki, but it was still delicious!

Portions were generous, and I really appreciated how cohesive the theme was. The waitress wasn't as informed about the food, but I think that's understandable with a completely original menu for Restaurant Week. The decorations inside are beautiful, and I appreciated that we could carry on a conversation - a lot of restaurants are too loud to even talk to the people around you.

Overall, a great experience, and I think I picked the right things on the menu. We found this place by accident and we're so glad we did! The Ramen was delicious I had the vegan option! The portions were huge. We could not finish the whole bowl.

And the price was great for a downtown restaurant. Will definitely go back! Really enjoyed the ramen 🍜, honestly was excited to try the restaurant above once I seen the menu but it was closed. Food that knocks the cold off.

The only reason this getting a two star and not at least 4 was because the meat smelt sickening! Everything else was spot on. The Ramen was good. It felt like the waiter and waitress because we had 2 just disappeared simultaneously and right after our food was served.

Empty restaurant at 2pm but waited over 20 minutes for napkins and second order of drinks. Their spicy Ramen will humble you like a Mike Tyson punch. Great outdoor seating area for dining with my puppy. The gyoza was good, nice and crispy however the ramen left alot to be desired.

It was a bit too salty, the portions are small, not enough meat to go with the noodles. The soup was nice and light. A bit too expensive for the price.

Kind staff let people shelter in the restaurant during a storm. Even though it meant people were standing in the aisles. Good display of humanity. Ramen was tasty. Noodles were bouncy. I would definitely get the fried gyozas again. The super spicy ramen had real kick. Not inedible kick.

But it is not for novices. Great atmosphere, laid back, friendly staff. Ordered their shio ramen which was a clear broth. The ramen noodles were the best part of the meal, the broth had a taste similar to chicken broth, so I was a little disappointed.

Great for those with allergies, they have a whole section on the menu for those with allergens. Mentioned on. Chinese restaurant. Asian restaurant. The chinese restaurant Chinatown Express is a favorite for locals and visitors alike.

The expert chefs at this establishment whip up delicious Asian-inspired dishes such as egg rolls, barbecue spare ribs, and dumplings. Perhaps the most famous dish at Chinatown Express is their handmade noodles which are spun in front of the window.

This place have the best duck ever, very tender and delicious. The home made noodles is a must try. Yes, it is small and can get crowded but food is great.

I love this place! The place feels small, but is actually rather spacious, and the decor leaves something to read if you don't want to idle on your phone although too interesting. The staff are nice, and EXTREMELY quick, food came out in less than 10 minutes.

The food can be a toss up. Most of the menu is the same stuff, but slightly different something to it, which makes the menu somewhat intimidating. I will say that the dumplings are fantastic, the sauces provided on the tables are really good as well.

Any chicken plate is done really well, so is the pork. Just make sure you read what you're ordering, because you could end up receiving just a plate of some marinated beef and plain rice, and that's it, so make sure you do read what you're ordering.

Overall, definitely a repeat visit. Duck was so so good. The lobster with garlic sauce is exactly what I want it to be. The garlic sauce eggplant was pure joy.

The people at the restaurant were super nice to us. But the restaurant does lack in proper maintenance and appearance. The entrance and front side is much nicer than the back room dining tables. But I am happy ignore all that for the delight of my heart and tummy :.

I recently visited Chinatown Express in DC and had a great experience! The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food considering the affordability. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

They made sure our experience was pleasant from start to finish. The food arrived quickly and was fresh and piping hot.

Overall, I recommend Chinatown Express if you're looking for a tasty meal that won't break the bank. The combination of delicious food, friendly staff, and quick service made for a fantastic dining experience.

Four of five stars! Place doesn't look all that great from the street, but the food was good. Ordered a duck and wonton soup with the house made fresh noodles. Super good. Tastes were all real and fresh. The duck is hanging in the window if you don't believe it was cooked and prepared right there.

Service was fast. Prices are great. Very delicious Chinese cuisine. What pulled us in this fine establishment is the Duck Man that was in the front window. He was just messing around with the ducks and chopping them up and what not. The duck man made eye contact with me and he then winked.

Next, and without breaking eye contact with me he chopped the next duck in half with a 1 foot clever. Food was awesome duck man was cool. Waitress sucked. This place is solid gold. My partner and I were drawn in by the uncle making dumplings in the window and I'm so glad.

My partner said the dumplings tasted like his grandma's homemade ones, which is the highest praise I can give. The fresh noodles were thick and perfectly cooked and the broth was light but flavorful. I got the soup noodles with bbq pork, and it was easily one of the best tasting pork I've had - the quality was great.

If you're looking for simple, delicious, and authentic food, this is it. Chinatown Express is convenient to Gallery Place metro.

There are two eating areas. Service is quick and efficient. We were immediately seated and our order taken. We got the chicken Yat noodles soup , sweet and sour chicken, Singapore rice noodles, and an ice cold Tsingtao beer.

The soup came out first. It was so good and flavorful. The Singapore rice noodles was very good also. Nice sized shrimp and loaded with green onions. Back in the day the noodles were hand made in the front window.

The sweet and sour chicken was piping hot but could have been flavored better. I will return. This is one of the few Chinese establishments that I will eat. Prices are pretty decent. The only thing I didn't like was the prices were not on the ticket when we paid.

Nothing fancy here, but really good homestyle Chinese food. Friendly and welcoming full service. We lucked out on timing, and we got the table by the front window. The restaurant was full for dinner hours, but there was no waiting. We were seated right away. There's an extensive food menu.

There's something here for everyone. The pork fried dumplings were fresh and crispy. The egg rolls, on the other hand, were very greasy but crispy.

Two of us tried the fresh noodles; one as duck soup, and the other duck sauté. You can not go wrong with either option. The duck will have fat and bones but adds wonderful flavors. The noodles are fresh, hearty, and fulfilling. I had General Tso chicken with wonton soup and egg rolls..

egg rolls are nothing but brown cabbage, two wontons in a broth that tasted like water and the chicken smh was brown on the inside and taste horrible!!!

I could not even eat one piece, just gross!!! Fresh noodles, hand made, descent reviews. What can go wrong? Well a bunch. The dumplings were doughy and undercooked. The broth was flavorless in my soup.

The duck in my soup was cut with the bones, This is just lazy. The restaurant itself looks dingy and could use a deep cleaning and updating. Otherwise, the shining star was the BBQ pork. It was tasty. I like tasting different food from different horizons and this time I tried the noodle with roasted duck.

The broth is super tasty and the meet is well cooked and juicy. The skin is crisp and the fat is barely noticeable. My only cons is the noodles.

Just one Arepa tends to fill me up for lunch! Arepa Zone started off as a pop-up in Union Market and now has several locations across DC and one in Northern Virginia. I still remember when they first opened back in and trying an arepa for the first time. They are so so good!

Eastern Market is one of the few historic public market buildings left in Washington, DC, and the only one that has retained its original public market function. The Eastern Market building is designated as a National Historic Landmark. The market has been in continuous operation since This food hall is open daily and has affordable options inside, but on weekends, tons of spots pop up outside Eastern Market as part of the farmer's market and flea market.

It's a great place to start your day since it's close to the Capitol and many museums in DC. Roaming Rooster started as a food truck in in Washington, DC. Within months, they went viral on social media, and for good reason - their chicken sandwiches are incredible!

Since then, the popularity of the only food truck in DC serving tasty free-range chicken has grown massively, and they now have several different restaurant locations around DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

My absolute favorite thing from here is the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. It's so tasty, and they let you choose your spicy level; for me, that's medium to mild HA! While Union Market started as Centre Market, once the largest market in Washington, DC, and opened to the public in By , it was the center of a vibrant commercial life in Washington, D.

Close to a railroad station and streetcar lines, sitting between the White House and the Capitol Building, the market was a crossroads for all of Washington, D. After years of success, it was torn down in to make way for the National Archives. Undaunted, many of the businesses relocated and created a new venue, Union Terminal Market.

This market also does a ton of events, has a rooftop , and does drive-in Friday night movies. Check out their website for more details on special events!

My favorite ramen spot in DC by far is Daikaya. Daikaya serves Sapporo-style ramen, easily recognized by its rich pork base, seasoned with clear broths, curly noodles, and wok-roasted toppings.

Sapporo-style ramen has the most variations among Japan's three most well-known types of ramen, both in terms of ingredients and taste.

T aikaya's noodles are imported directly from Sapporo and made by Nishiyama Seimen Company to ensure authenticity. They are located in Chinatown in downtown DC making it easy to stop in after a long day.

They do not take reservations, and lines can be long, so I recommend going early to get a spot in line. They're almost always busy. Looking for a good taco around DC? My favorite spot is Taqueria Habanero. There's a location in Columbia Heights as well as College Park.

Plus, President Biden and VP Kamala Harris visited in spring , which brought even more buzz to the restaurant. I also love this place and find it unique because it's where my husband and I went on our first date!

There's so much fantastic food, and this is just a sampling of my favorite places to eat in Washington, DC , but I hope you find this helpful as you look for the best cheap eats in Washington, DC.

Union Market. If you haven't shopped at Aldi yet, you're missing out on some of the cheapest groceries around. According to YouGov , a market research and data analytics firm, Aldi is considered one of the most popular grocery stores in the country. Not only is the product quality top-tier, the German-based company's business model is designed to minimize the cost to the consumer.

According to Aldi , 90 percent of the products on their shelves are private-label brands. Other things, like the 25 cent returnable deposit to use the shopping carts, bagging your own groceries, and not listening to licensed music on the overhead speakers, decrease the store's overhead costs, which helps keep prices low.

And selecting produce out of the crates they came in rather than from aesthetically stacked displays is a small price to pay for cheap groceries.

This four-letter German company also operates on a low-cost model, but it's not the same as Aldi. Lidl has been offering affordable groceries since the s and is actively expanding across the East Coast of the U.

Although there are fewer locations than Aldi, they're constantly in close competition for stocking the cheapest groceries. The selection of items is curated to keep the essentials in stock, instead of the added expense of keeping every variety and brand on the shelf. Their private label brands also have a Love It Guarantee , which means if a product doesn't meet your standards you can get your money back and exchange the item for something else.

This big-box store has all of the appeal of members-only clubs like Costco or Sam's Club , but without the expensive fees. WinCo Foods boasts locations across the West Coast, and is almost entirely employee-owned—which means their staff receive better wages and benefits. And yet the prices are still low.

WinCo purchases directly from farmers and manufacturers and has a large quantity of bulk foods, which means their prices undercut many other low-cost retailers. Another way to cut costs is by not accepting credit cards for payment. But fear not: they do allow payment with debit cards and federal food assistance cards.

Market Basket is one of the smaller chains on this list, but their savings make it one of the most affordable places to shop in the U. A recent study provided by the customer data firm dunnhumby revealed that the New England-based chain was the "top grocery retailer for inflationary times.

For over years, Market Basket has maintained the fierce loyalty of their customers for the high quality food at low prices. You can find anything from international cheeses, freshly squeezed juices, to even handmade sushi without racking up a massive grocery bill.

Trader Joe's is one of our go-to spots for affordable essentials, some of the best frozen food around, and unique snacks. Beyond the adorably kitschy decor and friendly staff, it's also one of the best grocery stores to visit when you're on a budget.

Even amidst the current egg-price hike, the cartons at Trader Joe's remain inexpensive. While some items can get more expensive than at standard grocery stores the produce section can get costly if you're feeding a big family , their private label goods deliver on quality without sacrificing affordability.

If you need shopping inspiration, check out our favorite items here. When you're hunting for low-cost, high quality groceries, Food4Less is an obvious choice.

that specializes in classic thin-crust pies and Junior's cheesecake. It is inspired by New York-style pizza, and offers options such as pasta loaded pies.

Slide 1 of For years I would never have a decent place to recommend for NYC style pizza. That has all changed since I discovered Wise Guys. Every time I have visited their locations I am able to get very tasty pizza slices quickly.

I switch from choosing very traditional cheese or pepperoni slices to some of their more creative options. Either way I enjoy my order. The last time I decided to get a set of 3 delicious, buttery garlic knots I ate one before remembering to take a picture. Solid pizza slices with interesting choices.

It's the version of NY pizza where the slices are a bit thicker and you have that crunchy bottom, not the foldable slice ones. We had the Nashville Hot Chicken, Korean Chicken, Mushroom Truffle, and Buffalo.

Wasn't too busy before the Caps game perhaps because it's a few blocks from the Arena. I'd return to try some of the other flavors. A nice little hole in the wall by a very busy H street. They're open till midnight so a great late night option. Pizza by the slice with options like chicken paneer, Korean chicken, chicken tikka, spicy Nashville chicken, cheese and a whole lot more.

Pretty decent tasting pizza. Amazing crust! They heat up the slices you want and voila! Korean chicken crust is thicker but still very good and nice balance of flavors.

Pepperoni is a bit on the salty side but gooooood still! Even the tomato base on crust ends are nice. Truffle mushroom pizza was great as well with goats cheese. Nice hole in the wall for a few good slices! They are pictured below.

The chocolate chip cookies are warm and but underbaked, perfect. I ordered the big apple 18" godfather well done from their online website. The pizza was large and tasted delicious. I had around three slices before I put the remaining leftovers away.

It took a long time to get the pizza once I arrived at the store. I don't know if it was because they were busy but it took around 20 minutes to pick up a pizza through takeout which isn't typical.

I love wiseguy pizza, I get the Buffalo chicken pizza when I go there and It is a work of art. A lot of places put very little Buffalo sauce on there pizza but they put it on thick. This place is probably the best pizza in DC.

If you are in town I highly recommend it. Hot afternoon in DC, and we found the perfect spot to grab some dinner. We were 3 and had 2 slices each.

The outside tables are perfect. The best pizza in town, tried more than 4 flavors pizza but the standout is tandoori chicken slices, which had distinct flavors and topped with their homemade sauce was a great addition.

Would highly recommend their Paneer pizza as well. Really good pizza! I tried the grandma, Margherita and supreme.

All are really good. Staff are also all really friendly! Food is good and the price is reasonable. If you looking for a late night snacking wise guy pizza is a great option right in the middle of Washington DC..

Open till late on the Washington street!! Best for after party food!! NY style pizza by the slice. They had about types available and the system is fairly efficient. The pizza was good but not amazing. It did the trick but I probably wouldn't go too far out of my way to come back.

The Korean chicken pizza was disappointing - didn't really have much flavor of anything. And while it is nice you can order a single garlic knot, they didn't have much flavor. Really good pizzas, if you want to dine in and order whole pizza they need atleast 20 to 25 min to prepare your order.

Paid street parking is right in front of the pizza place. Dine in area is small, they do have patio seating arrangements as well.

This place was nothing but, GOODNESS! So many oven cooked pizza slices and whole pie options! The prices was great!

Salvadoran restaurant. The Salvadorean restaurant El Rinconcito Cafe is a favorite of locals and immigrants in the Washington, DC area for its delicious pupusas and fajitas.

The cafe is easy to find and has reasonable prices, making it a great option for budget-minded diners. Great food, reasonable prices, and large portions!

The restaurant is small but cozy and very clean. The staff are very kind and welcoming. I will definitely come back and try their other dishes. One of the best Salvadorian food restaurants I have been to in DC!

My first foray into Salvadoran food and I wasn't disappointed. Reasonably priced items , lots of options in the menu and delicious food! We came here for a quick bite and everything was pretty yummy. They have natural juices as well those were pretty good.

The place is small place not to many tables, however food and service was good. Food is very tasty. I had the beef chimichanga and I thought it was pretty good. Also the pricing is very reasonable. This place is in the heart of downtown DC so it's hard to get a better deal than that.

I was there at the time that they were going to close and most of the clientele that time are people at the bar.

I noticed many people coming and going with their takeout orders and those sitting at the bar. Good friendly crowd.

However don't expect to hold a conversation with anyone unless you speak Spanish yourself 🙂. El Rinconcito Cafe translating to "The Little Corner Cafe" is a small Salvadorian restaurant that provides a breath of fresh tasty air to the largely new American flavors in this area of D.

With friendly staff, their menu is pretty big - but the pupusas are the star here. The pupusas themselves are seared perfectly, with just a bit of cheese oozing out.

And while some pupusas can be quite oily and wet, El Rinconcito manages to let the bread and fillings shine without overusing additional fats. The slaw and sauce on the side is a perfect fresh accompaniment to the pupusas. I just wish they provide more of the sauce as the Salvadorian style salsa really brings life to pupusas.

The corn tamale is also pretty tasty moist with little chunks of smashed sweet corn and saved me from starving during a long wait from delayed flights. They also have Horchata, but the flavor is a bit different from what you might traditionally expect - and, as I found out later, that's because Salvadorian Horchata is made differently than Mexican Horchata!

Using Morro, cocoa, and other bold flavors, the Horchata has a sweeter, chocolate-y, earthy flavor to it. Sitting near a street corner, the restaurant is snug and ideal for an outing with a friend or two rather than a large group.

For a very affordable and delicious snack or lunch, El Rinconcito is a fantastic spot to visit in D. I had never tried Salvadoran food until El Rinconcito and it blew me away. This place is an underrated gem. Spinach and squash pupusas were very tasty and homely.

The burrito was unlike any southern American food I had ever tried, full of flavor. And the seafood soup was a challenge to eat, but very very tasty. This place is a must try if your in the DC area.

Even without meat the flavor was amazing. The service here was excellent and was very welcoming and hospitable, reminded me of service back home. I only gave the atmosphere a 4 because it was a little small, and some people had to wait outside in the rain.

This place has the best horchata and the best enchiladas I have ever had. Every bite of this meal has bursts of flavor!

Ever been part of the clean plate club? This place will make you a part of it so fast you will want to come back for more 🤩. What a great hole in the wall! It was so cold and we were looking for something warm, and we saw that they served soup and that it was relatively inexpensive, and man were we blown away by the beef stew.

It was SOOOO GOOD. It soothed the soul. There were carrots, tripe, tendon, bones, a knob of corn, and plantains, among other beef cuts. It was hot in temp and just enough in spice to warm you up, but not make you gasp for water. So good. The pupusa was also delicious! I loved the salsa on the cabbage.

It was a bit acidic, and in conjunction with the pupusa as well as the beef stew, it was a perfect combo. Putting this in my "places to go in DC for delicious food" list.

I only gave the atmosphere 4 stars because it's a tiny place. This place is a gem hidden on 11th St. The pollo y queso pupusas are delicioso! That chimichanga though, OMG! I can tell you right now that I'll be going back.

This place is super small so if you go in there with a large group of more than 6 people you've already seated half of the restaurant. This would be an amazing place for a small family gathering. My only negative comment would be that they didn't follow orders when my spouse asked them not to put guacamole with his food.

He doesn't care for it so he didn't want it to be wasted. He has a thing about not wasting resources.

I don't blame him. Awesome Salvadoran food. Very home style, everything was fresh and made in house. The pupusas was my favorite. You can taste how fresh the tortilla was. Great spot to support a local business and eat tasty food. Need a place to stay?

Where City name. Rooms, guests. Rooms and guests. Search for hotels. Slide 1 of 4. Eritrean restaurant. Ethiopian restaurant. The food is hearty and includes many pasta-based dishes. The restaurant has a loyal following of both locals and expats who come for lunch and dinner.

This is my second time eating Ethiopian food and it was a true delight. I was feeling under the weather and needed a wholesome nutritious meal and decided to get their Special Shiro. It was creamy, flavorful, scrumptious. I was also pleasantly surprised when I found out my order came with an extra of Enjera bread filled with their lentil sauce and spinach.

Thank you for a wonderful culinary experience! The food is not something I would crave often but I'm happy that I tried it. I found it flavorful and very filling. The injera is addicting and the lentils were my favorite.

The food is affordable with generous portions. The restaurant is small with limited seating and busy. I would definitely return to try more menu options. I heard their breakfasts are amazing. Delicious food, amazing atmosphere and excellent service as well.

It deserves 5 stars ladies and gentlemen. Thank you. Everyone who works here is so sweet and it felt super homey. I loved the food I ordered and would be great to share with a few people.

Went here for lunch on a week day and the service was fast. Will definitely be back for dinner with some friends! After hearing raving reviews from our friends, we finally tried this place….. which quickly became our favorite Ethiopian place in the city.

The meal was fabulous and Uber filling. We got there right at the right time because it became packed on a Friday evening! A cute family style Eritrean restaurant near Dupont Circle in Washington DC. Friendly staff and tasty dishes!

The dishes and stews were flavorful and fresh. They also offer American style breakfast, but I encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and try a new dish here. Vegetarian friendly. Plenty of options for meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans alike.

Amazing Eritrean food! It was my first time trying Eritrean cuisine and this restaurant definitely exceeded all expectations. The staff were very friendly! Keren is located in a high-energy neighborhood full of mom-and-pop shops. They operate a very modest space with great food and warm smiles.

The food was good. The beef could have been a bit more tender. The injera was great. Soft and tangy. There is 1 lady taking care of the front of house.

She did her best but service was kind of slow. But the taste was amazing,!!!! We had a fantastic experience here! Amazing food and such good prices. We ordered the Keren special 4 with chicken and thought it was delicious!

The wait staff were super kind and helpful, especially helping us decide what to order. I would highly recommend! The combo platter was plenty of food for 2 people with lots of leftovers. We came at 7 on a Saturday party of 2 and had to wait about 15 minutes before being sat, which is totally worth it!

What a wonderful surprise on our trip to dc. We were looking for something different and came across Keren restaurant. The food was so good and so different than anything we had before, and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. It was definitely worth the wait and would recommend this for anyone looking for something different but still accessible.

Laotian restaurant. Thip Khao is a laotian restaurant in Washington where the chef has sparked a local renaissance for spicy, often herbal cooking. Dishes like the crispy coconut-rice salad with fermented pork nam khao and red goat curry are popular among customers.

Chef Seng Luangrath's signature dish is the fiery khao soi soup, which has quickly become one of the city's most popular items. Thip Khao is a great little intimate date night restaurant. They offer outdoor and indoor dining.

Our table was ready when we arrived for dinner and the service was very pleasant. All of the food was delicious with the exception of the pork and rice which I felt lacked a bit of flavor and the rice was dry and hard.

But other than that 1 dish missing the mark, everything else was fantastic. The Jerry was very tasty and perfect texture. The papaya salad with the Laotian level of spice really pushed it. I handle a lot of spice, so it wasn't too bad for my but my date really had a bit of a shock when she tried it as I also noticed the table next to me sweating from the heat.

But that is to be expected when eating from a place that takes pride in their level of spicy and taste. The drinks were fantastic and the noodles were a great soft taste after having the papaya salad.

All in all I'd happily return and explore more of the menu. The glorious reviews did not lie. We went after a long hike and the food was delightful, full of flavors and textures.

I recommend every single dish I tried see pictures. They adjust spiciness upon request, which is great: I asked for a very mildly spicy dish the fermented chili rice , as I like spice but my tolerance is still pretty low, and it was just perfect. Very attentive staff as well.

Flavorful food for a great price, and a wonderful atmosphere. Really loved how kind the staff were, and I really can't describe how well they invited the spices into every dish. It's good to get a variety of appetizers and mains if you are with a group, and just share amongst all of you.

You'd be better off ordering a regular hot tea. The drinks had the hint of the Asian flavor, but something about the ratio was incorrect which listed the quality e. g too much milk, the wrong mix of alcohol, etc. But decent overall! Thrilled to find this lovely spot. Would try a different main next time.

Definitely nice to have vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. The dessert one option was heavenly - a sweet rice base with a mango-coconut porridge, not too sugary but an excellent way to round out the meal.

Reservations are a good idea, though 2 people might be able to squeeze in depending on the night. The food was amazing! The sour pork belly one was amazing the dessert was really good. The food is very affordable we all just bought a dish and shared it to try everything.

Came with high expectations and were more or less content with the experience. The lump crab and mushroom noodle dish was so close to being perfect, but it was unnecessarily salty. Detracted from the otherwise subtle flavors and lovely presentation.

The chicken skewers were very good, but once again the dipping sauce was saltier than needed. And I like salt. Prices are fairly high but not unreasonable. Good outdoor and indoor seating options. Will be back for sure. This is the best asian food I have ever had.

I found this place to be recommended everywhere on reddit and decided to give it a try. We got the peanut salad, prawn glass noodles and grilled chicken hearts.

The chicken hearts were an out of the world experience. It reminded me of my childhood. The peanut salad was lip smacking delicious. The noodles were tossed in a sweet sour sauce and tasted perfect. We will be back to try the other items. Definitely one of my favourite places in DC!

A must go spot for vegetarians as everything was so so flavourful. We went there on a Thursday and it got busier towards the end of the night so I would suggest reserving before you go. We had the popular Naem Khao highly deserving of all the hype it gets , the two tofu dishes on the menu both which were amazing!

I loved the dill tofu wrapped inside banana leaves and the pumpkin for dessert! Just writing this review is making my mouth water. Incredible food and service. The staff are quite kind and the ambience is lovely. The food is priced reasonably given their large portions.

Highly recommend checking out their desserts! Would come again. Just absolutely delicious. Got the only red wine on the menu and it was such a wonderful pairing with both our meals. A fruity, slightly dry wine to match the heavy, hearty food.

Have come back many times and will continue. I think my only comment would be on the noise level when it gets really busy but that seems normal these days.

Fried yellow noodle was our favorite - flavorful and was different than typical dishes we could find at SE Asian restaurants.

So delicious. The food was great. We went for early dinner with reservation. Parking was a hassle so get there early. We had three mains for two people. Was too much but definitely worth the trip. Would highly recommend.

Had fried rice, curry noodle and crispy catfish. Barbecue restaurant. Dcity Smokehouse is a barbecue restaurant in the heart of downtown Washington, D. Pitmaster Shawn McWhirter takes great pride in crafting epic sandwiches using wood-smoked variation of American specialty.

From smoked meats to wings, everything on the menu is fantastic! Went for a quick bite and loved it! Drinks are Fire 🔥BBQ is so tasty…we had brisket, ribs and wings and all were absolutely delicious! But MOST importantly the DRINKS! They were super tasty and will for sure be returning to enjoy more of the wide selection of drinks… true neighbor gem 💎!!!

Great tasting food. The ribs very tender and the wings have a sweet and smokey taste. I highly recommend this place to those that love good BBQ. Every time my husband and I come from Ohio we stop here for a meal.

Food is excellent but here is the kicker. Back to the food We had brisket, smoked wings , and ribs with brisket chili , greens a little sweet and baked beans And I had a large daiquiri not a lot of tequila but ok Overall excellent as usual And the BEST play list playing in the background.

Great Restaurant!! This is a BBQ place with food that was super good. You order at the counter and sit to wait for you food to be brought to you. They have a full service bar as well. They have a heated tent to add to more indoor settings when cold it looked like it would open up for nicer weather.

The staff were professional and friendly!! Overall great!! Dropped by for their amazing food on my weeklong sightseeing trip to DC. Came by on a weeknight and the place was quite busy.
