I have found that using a chop stick from our local Chinese restaurant is greatly helpful in turning them right side out. The chop stick is less likely to push through the fabric and it gets into small crannies pretty well.

I loved making these bibs. The only part is turning them right side out. Do you have an easier way. Mary thank you. Well as for turning, I've seen a few bibs where the layers were just sewn together and the raw edges were serged or zigzaged, so no turning.

But those will not last as bibs always get a lot of laundering, and personally I prefer clean edges, and absolutely no chance for loose threads around a baby's neck. But with practice, even turning a bib right-side out will become easy, especially after you've made a few.

You can choose to cut both the front and back from the same type of fabric. Step 2: Place Baby Bib pattern piece over fabric rectangle or pattern piece with Right Sides of Fabric facing each other. Pin in Place. Stop two inches from starting place leaving and opening as shown above. Step 3 - Clip notches around the outer curves curves and snip straight clips around the inner curves.

This will help the fabric on the bib to sit smoothly without wrinkles when turned right side out. Step 6 - Turn the bib right side out, rolling the seam allowance flat around the edges. Press with iron to help eliminate the bulky seam allowance.

Step 7 - Tuck the half inch flap on the opening under so it sits flush with the edge of the bib and press to set. Pin in place.

Pin the layer pieces together. marked with pins. Trim diagonally near the corners. I also like to trim my seam allowances down a little everywhere except where the turning opening is. Turn the whole thing inside out so that the right side of the fabrics are now on the outside.

Push out the corners using a pencil or point turner. And give the whole thing a press. This closes the opening gap left by turning the bib the right way out, and gives the finished bib a more professional finish.

Finally, add a kam snap fastening or piece of sew-in velcro to either end of the longest side of the triangle. This is used to fasten the bib. If the resulting bib is too large and you need to use it on a smaller baby, you can also add a second set of fastenings a little way in on the longest edge.

As usual, I like to batch cut and make several of these at the same time for speed. You will soon have a whole load of these to keep, gift or sell! Now you know how to make a bib, you can make these in a variety of colours.

And should you want the bandana bib to be bigger, you just need to size up the bib pattern, making a larger length to each side of the triangle.
